Hello RoughRiders Family,
Today our hockey community learned of the decision that the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL will not be participating in the league this year. We are saddened about this, however, the team will be back for the 2021-2022 season and we will be there to support them in every way possibily. With the leadership of Head Coach, Mark Carlson, there is no doubt that the team will come back stronger and be a team the surrounding community will be proud of.
This decision has no effect on the planning and the operations of the season for youth and high school hockey. The USHL ownership and staff remain committed and will show support to the continued growth and success on and off the ice of RRHC for the season. “We are very committed to youth hockey and the high school hockey program and are assisting them in continuing their operations this year,” said Cedar Rapids owner Mr. Tony Sdao.
We look forward to seeing everyone in Waterloo this coming week for tryouts.
