Advisory Board of Director Positions

    We are accepting applications for the following positions through June 1st:

    Position Title: Off-Ice Division Director
    Position Length of Term: 1 Year
    Position Overview: Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Be a liaison between coaches, managers, parents, RRHC Director of Hockey Operations, Director of Hockey, and Executive Director.
    • Positive ambassador for the game and the club.
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Secure team Managers and Treasurers for each team in the division
    • Be familiar with the fundraising policy, travel policies, locker room policy, and all other RRHC key policies.
    • Support team managers as needed
    • Book hotels for all travel tournaments
    • Communicate association business as needed
      • Forward information from RRHC Staff as requested
        • When appropriate, take information from initial email and distribute as Division Director email (take out evidence of forwarding)
    • Ensure team managers know process for rosters, uniforms, travel, etc…
    • Current info on injury/incident reporting, travel policies, and enforcement of concussion protocol to managers
    • Manage division’s fundraiser approval process
    • Manage the game slots available for division with assistance from Team Managers. Team Managers will be responsible for filling game slots.
    • Sit and be a part of the Advisory Board of Directors.

    Position Title Director of Social Media
    Position Length of Term 1 Year
    Position Overview
    Reporting to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The Director of Social Media role is responsible for developing and executing overall strategy for social media and digital marketing efforts for RoughRiders Hockey Club. It is an opportunity for the right individual to have an impact on the brand through progressive marketing strategies across all digital media. Highlight specific events including, but not limited to, upcoming programming, special announcements, and team/program specific material. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: (including, but not limited to)

    • Track and monitor the success of online initiatives and report them to key staff
    • Support Executive Director in executing marketing plans and
    • Identify and report on digital and social media
    • Maintain institutional marketing campaign press as well as monitor and maintain all digital media
    • Stay current on all social media developments and best
    • Basic graphic design

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Social Media and Public Relations
    • Knowledge of online technology, particularly including blogs, social networks, virtual worlds, wiki’s, mobile and other emerging trends – including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

    Position Title Webmaster

    Position Overview Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions

    • General upkeep of information on website as a whole
      • Update pages as programming is finalized.
      • Maintain and update contact’s page.
      • Fix and repair any website issue.
    • Work with USHL RoughRiders in building a communication process of upcoming events such as tournaments, USHL games, promotions, brand promotion stories, and other for maintenance of site.
    • Assist in the development of registration links, information collection from membership, and other key communications such as MailChimp.
    • Keep website plugins, WordPress software, and all other related background processes up to date.
    • Work closely with the Director of Social Media on planning and development of relevant information.

    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Work with each Division Director and Team Manager to collect USA Hockey paperwork for all players
    • Create official USA Hockey rosters for all RRHC teams via USA Hockey
    • Work with Hockey Director to make sure all coaches have completed coaching requirements
    • Add coaches to appropriate USA Hockey Rosters
    • MWAHA contact for background checks
    • Sit and be a part of the Advisory Board of Directors.

    Position Title Director of Fundraising
    Position Length of Term Unlimited
    Position Overview Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Raise funds for our cause and regularly meet or surpass fundraising targets
    • Research potential donors to gain insight into needs, beliefs and donation habits to understand how to position our organization to them
    • Assist in brainstorming and creating new methods to raise funds for our organization
    • Leverage technology and social media where possible to improve fundraising activities
    • Assist in planning and coordinating events meant to raise funds and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
    • Create marketing materials, like flyers and brochures, to be used for the promotion of events and other fundraising pushes
    • Analyze the performance of events and other fundraising activities for effectiveness and to identify areas where money can be saved
    • Maintain complete and orderly records of donors and manage regular donor communications
    • Build upon existing donor relationships and form new donor relationships on a regular basis
    • Collaborate with other organizations and groups within the community to build partnerships and enhance fundraising activities

    8U-14U Team Volunteer Positions

    Position Title Assistant Division Director
    Position Length of Term 1 Year
    Position Overview Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Be a liaison between both division directors, the directors, and the team
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Secure team Treasurers for each team in the division

    • Be a liaison between both division directors, the directors, and the team in relation to Team Fundraising
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Be familiar with the management and operation of RRHC Fundraising Policies
    • Support Director of Hockey Operations as needed for RRHC Club Fundraisers
    • Assist in the development of Team Fundraisers
    • Any and all other necessary functions asked of by the Executive Director, Director of Hockey Operations, or Board of Directors

    Position Title Team Treasurer
    Position Length of Term 1 Year
    Position Overview Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Be a liaison between both division directors, the directors, and the team
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Be familiar with the fundraising policy, and all RRHC financial policies
    • Support division directors as needed
    • Manage the payment of ice from other teams that do not reciprocate games at their home rink
      • $235/hr is the CRIA ice rate
      • $$$/game for referees to be determined based upon age division
    • Ensure that all referees are paid during home games
    • Work with RRHC Treasurer on reporting of all monies raised
    • Work in conjunction with RRHC Treasurer to fill out all necessary paperwork for request of fundraising monies use and allocation

    Position Title Team Tournament Coordinator
    Position Length of Term 1 Year
    Position Overview Assist the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Tournament Director with the operations of tournaments.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Be a liaison between both division directors, the directors, and the team
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Be familiar with the management and operation of RRHC home tournaments
    • Support Tournament Director as needed
    • Assist in the procurement of teams for specific age groups
    • Assist and manage the scheduling of score keepers
    • Assist and management of the playing of music during all RRHC tournament games
    • Serve as the point of contact with the teams within the age group and division
    • Coordinate with USHL front office to promote USHL home games during tournament weekend
    • Be a part of the Tournament Committee that consists of all Tournament Coordinators from all teams
    • Any and all other necessary functions asked of by the Executive Director, Tournament Director, or Board of Directors

    High School Volunteer Positions

    The High School RoughRiders Hockey Team requires a unique set of Volunteers. These volunteers will work as the High School Operations Committee. If you are interested in applying for these jobs, apply below! 

    Position Title: High School President & MHL League Representative
    Position Length of Term: 1 Year
    Position Overview: Assist the Board of Directors and Executive Director with the operations of the season.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Lead the Direction of the High School Operations Committee
    • Be a liaison between coaches, managers, parents, RRHC Director of Hockey Operations, Director of Hockey, and Executive Director.
    • Positive ambassador for the game and the club
    • Attend all MWAHA League meetings pertaining to High School Hockey and report a summary of those meetings to the RRHC Board of Directors, and Executive Director
    • Attend and lead all Parent informational meetings
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Assist in the procurement of volunteers for High School Teams including Manager, Treasurer, Game Day Operations staff, tryouts etc.
    • Be familiar with the fundraising policy, travel policies, locker room policy, and all other RRHC key policies
    • Work with coaching staff, RRHC Hockey Director and Rink to schedule home games, summer skates, summer camps, etc.
    • Work with Hockey Director to help with Merchandise, equipment, uniforms, etc.
    • Communicate association business as needed
    • Forward information from RRHC Staff as requested
    • When appropriate, take information from initial email and distribute as Division Director email (take out evidence of forwarding)

    • Positive ambassador for the game and the club.
    • Attend and assist in all Parent informational meetings
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Be familiar with the fundraising policy, travel policies, locker room policy, and all other RRHC key policies.
    • Be familiar with and help enforce all SafeSport policies and procedures.
    • Work closely with Team Treasurer and Game Day Director
    • Help maintain RRHC High School page on RRHC Website
    • Gather information from players/coaches including academic eligibility, USA Hockey Registrations, coaching certifications, SafeSport documents, medical waivers, etc
    • Communicate association business as needed to players/parents.
    • Help maintain and ordering of equipment with Executive Director including jerseys, name plates, equipment bags, socks, warmups, shorts/shirts, jersey bags, game pucks, practice pucks, coaching equipment, water bottles, equipment toolbox
    • Current info on injury/incident reporting, travel policies, and enforcement of concussion protocol to managers
    • Assist coaching staff with any travel needs and communicate with Secretary

    • Work with RRHC Treasurer on reporting of all monies raised
    • Work in conjunction with RRHC Treasurer and Executive Director to fill out all necessary paperwork for request of fundraising monies use and allocation

    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Attend all Board Meetings, Parent meetings, etc and keep minutes.
    • Support Team Manager as needed
    • Work with team manager to make sure all HS merchandise is handed out accordingly and returned in a timely fashion. Track all HS merchandise
    • Create HS Program
    • Schedule and assist with Team Photo
    • Work with Director of Hockey Operations to ensure that HS portion of RRHC website is kept up to date.
    • Assist with the following items for Travel games:
      • Create Travel itinerary with Coaching staff 
      • Book Charter buses, if necessary
      • Book Hotels, if necessary
      • Work with coaches on room assignments
      • Ensure team meals are scheduled
      • Ensure that team snacks/drinks are provided for every game

    Position Length of Term: 1 Year

    • Support HS Manager and Treasurer as needed
    • Ensure there are enough volunteers to cover all home games
    • Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey
    • Make sure the following is completed for all Travel games:
      • Pointstreak Rosters
      • Rink snacks/water
    • Make sure the following is completed for all Home games:
      • Pointstreak JV/Varsity “Team Rosters”
      • Fan Game Roster (50 copies double sided)
      • Work with Team treasurer to ensure Admissions table is staffed and has all supplies
      • Staff for Pointstreak, Score clock, music, penalty box, video
      • Coordinate game day info with visiting team
      • Work with Team treasurer to make sure Officials are paid
      • Coordinate with rink for any needs (microphone, music, etc)
      • Schedule EMT for all home games
      • 50 warm up pucks (25/team)
      • Game pucks in score box
      • Team snacks, water, etc
